Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Just because it’s a cliche to quote The Carpenters every time it rains doesn’t mean that it’s not the perfect rainy day song…

It is cold and rainy where I am. It’s been raining for days. I am laid up with a bum knee and am hobbling on crutches when I have to leave my armchair-with-matching-footstool (such a good purchase. Seemed ridiculous at the time, but oh holy cow it is a life saver). It’s cold enough here that there’s danger of ice on the sidewalks, and so I’m pretty much stuck inside my house.

My book, Right Here Waiting, is “put to bed”, as they say — out of my hands, out of my editors hands, and into the whirring churning clanging printers. (I know precisely zilch about the ins and outs of actual book printing. I’m basing all my printer knowledge on those I saw at The Daily Planet during my torrid love affair with Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman.)

I’m finishing up some promotional work — a virtual book tour (dates and places will be posted here forthwith) with interviews and guest blog posts, and I’m actually quite proud of my answers. But my brain’s feeling a bit soupy from staring at my screen.

What I’m trying to say is I’m in a bit of a lull at the moment, and a cold and rainy lull at that. You can go enter for a chance to win my book on rafflecopter and/or on goodreads, buy on pre-sale at my publisher or at Amazon.com. (And yes, soon it will be available from amazon.co.uk, amazon.ca, amazon.fr, and the rest of the amazons — and also from Barnesandnoble.com,

But then, come on back here with your preferred warm beverage (tea, coffee, cocoa or a nice hot toddy?) and let’s have a chat! Who are all you wonderful people? Put your feet up on the coffee table, and tell me your favorite rainy day movie to watch, ’cause I am running out of ideas!!
